Post 1: Technology journey
I began this journey of learning tech and coding in-depth 4 years ago. I was interested in computers since high school, butThe people around me discouraged that and i held myself backoutside of just graphic design.
I started by taking a look at C++ to get a feeling for coding. I found out it was the main coding language you study in college for computer science. I took a few months to learn some basics of C++ but was feeling a tad bit unsatisfied by the outcomes of my code. there was so much to learn. When I did my research about other things to do with coding I soon ventured to try Ethical hacking and py
I went through a time of learning Kalilinux and its functionalities for ethical hacking. I went in with very little background knowledge to support my learning of the subject matter, But I did learn a lot of handy skills along the way. I learned quite a few things about networks and how they can be attacked and exploited. I originally thought this information would be kind of useless to me without the background knowledge. To my surprise, the knowledge I picked up came to help me protect my dad’s phone and my friend’s entire internet from some small malware and hacker attacks I learned from this course. This games me a huge drive to want to learn more about computers, software, and code to see how it all ticked.
I went on to start learning python as my next language to tackle. Python proved a lot easier to learn and to achieve a proof of progress point for myself. In about 8 months learned up to an intermediate level about python and managed to create a simple tic tac toe game, a port scanner, and a Bot for Discord. These projects pushed me even further to learn more about python to expand my skills and soon pushed me to want to learn how to create my website from scratch to begin posting and keeping logs of my progress.
As of May 2022, I have begun my journey of learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I successfully made a simple website from scratch and plan to continue updating and advancing its design as I continue to learn. My journey and interest will continue with these three practices because they bring me the most joy. I also plan to take a second look at CPP more in-depth to further add to my skillset and flexibility with creation.
